Find where you stand with the US.
Foreign owners of a US business, non-residents receiving US income, Americans living abroad, families filing at home, and estates exposed through US assets — five different positions, one licensed CPA who works across all of them. Pick the closest match below; most people fit one cleanly, and we will tell you if yours is a blend.
Status decides your filings, not income alone.
Two people earning the same amount from the same US source can owe completely different things, because one is a citizen and the other is not. Where you live, which passport you hold and where the income arises are three separate questions, and all three change the answer.
The five ways people land here
Start with whichever is closest. If none quite fits, tell us how you are placed and we will map it with you.
Foreign owners of a US business
The company files, and so might you. Effectively connected income, Form 1040-NR, and the ITIN behind it.
Non-residents with US income
Withheld on the gross unless a treaty rate is claimed properly. W-8 forms, treaty positions and refund claims.
Americans living abroad
You still file. Form 1040, FBAR, foreign asset reporting, and the choice between exclusion and credit.
US individuals and families
Federal and state returns, equity compensation, multi-state moves and estimated tax planning.
Estate and gift exposure for non-residents
A US-situs exemption of $60,000, and US shares that count wherever they happen to be held.

If your situation does not match a box above, book a call and we will map it with you.
Rental income, FIRPTA withholding, the net-basis election and estate exposure are handled by US Real Estate CPA — our property practice, and a Taxule firm.
Every situation gets the same foundation
Before you pick a situation
What if I do not match one of the five?
These five cover what we see most, but they are a starting point rather than a menu. Plenty of people sit across two — an American abroad who also owns a US business, for instance. Tell us where you live, which passport you hold and where the income comes from, and we will map the right filings.
I have not filed in several years. Where do I start?
By not filing anything yet. There are established routes back into compliance, and which one fits depends on why the years were missed and what is in them. Filing returns retroactively on your own can close off options that were available to you.
How is this priced?
A fixed fee, agreed once we understand your status, your income sources and which states are involved. Quoted in writing before any work begins, and never billed by the hour.
Tell us where you stand.
Where you live, which passport you hold and where your income comes from. That is usually enough for us to tell you what you have to file and what it costs to run properly. If we are not the right firm for you, we will say so rather than quote for it.
