Inbound to the United States

Your US filings, handled by a CPA who knows what you owe.

A licensed US practice built for people and companies coming into the US from outside it. Foreign owners, non-residents, and Americans abroad. Fixed fee, agreed before anything starts. Pick your track:

Individual filings Non-resident with US income
ITIN, Form W-76–8 weeks
Form 1040-NR04/15
Form W-8BEN to your payerbefore payment
Treaty claim, where one applieswith the return
State return, where sourcedvaries

US-source income is withheld at 30% of gross by default, with no deductions, until something is filed that says otherwise.

Entity filings Foreign-owned US LLC
EINbefore you file
Pro forma Form 112004/15
Form 5472, per related party04/15
Beneficial ownership, if foreign-formed30 days
State report, where registeredvaries

Missing Form 5472 is $25,000 per form, per year, with no cap and no statute of limitations. It applies even at zero income.

A US preparer built for US owners does not know to ask.

Most American firms are set up for American clients. When the owner sits outside the country, or the money crosses a border on its way in, the reporting changes completely — and a domestic preparer often has no reason to ask the question that would have caught it.

That gap is where the penalties live. Not in the tax, which is usually manageable, but in the forms nobody mentioned.

Inbound work is the whole practice here. Foreign ownership, non-resident status and treaty positions are not a side service we also offer. They are the reason the firm exists, and they are what a licensed CPA signs off on.

Everything is scoped and priced before work begins. Never hourly, never a percentage of anything.

Two tracks, because the questions are different. Individuals are sorted by where you stand relative to the US; businesses by who owns the entity.

Holding US real estate?

Rental income, FIRPTA withholding, the net-basis election and estate exposure on property are handled by US Real Estate CPA — our property practice, and a Taxule firm. We will hand you across and stay involved on the entity side.

Tell us what reaches into the US.

A few questions about your status, your ownership and where you trade. We come back with what you actually need to file and a fixed price before any work begins.

If we are not the right firm for you, we will say so rather than quote for it. And if it is simpler than you feared, we will tell you that too.
