What can the US and UK team help with?
For individuals: US tax returns filed from the UK (Form 1040), FBAR and FATCA reporting, UK Self Assessment for Americans in the UK, treaty positions and foreign tax credits, and catching up on missed years. For businesses: US and UK filings for groups operating in both countries, and setting up the right structure on each side.
Do I need two separate firms for the US and the UK?
No. One team prepares both sides together, so your income, tax credits and treaty positions match across your IRS and HMRC filings.
I have not filed US returns for several years. Can you help?
Yes. Tell us which years are outstanding and whether the IRS has written to you. We will check whether the Streamlined procedures fit your situation and set out how to bring each year up to date.
Is the first conversation free?
Yes. The first conversation is free, and nothing is billed until you have agreed a written scope and a fixed fee.
How are fees set?
Every engagement has a fixed fee based on the work involved on each side, agreed in writing before we start. We do not bill by the hour.
Should I send documents with the first message?
Not yet. A description of your situation is enough for us to scope the work. We will set up a secure way to share documents once the scope is agreed.
What happens after I send this?
A member of the US and UK team reads it and comes back with any questions, then a written scope and a fixed fee. Work only starts once you have accepted it.
